Age: Pre-High School
Group Description: In this group, swimmers will continue to work on developing competitive training principles, stroke technique, and skills development. In this group swimmers will increase their aerobic base development, with an emphasis on skills development and stroke technique. The Red group swimmers display an interest in swimming as their sport, and enjoy attending practices, improving their skills, and competing. In this group, swimmers will increase their training intensity while continuing to work on stroke mechanics, training habits, and increasing their capacity. In this group, swimmers will be working towards attaining National BB time standards (11-12 age group) and qualifying for Age Group Championships.
Coaches look for:
Interested in swimming as their sport
Enjoy attending practices, improving their skills, and competing
Completed the 11-12 IMR events
Achieved a 11-12 National B time in 3 events, including an IM event
Practice Attendance: 6 practices per week offered. Swimmers are encouraged to attend as many practices as they can.
Meet Attendance: Swimmers are encouraged to participate in all swim meets, including championship meets. (Swim meets are usually offered once a month.)
Practice Duration: 90 minutes
